Eye Bolt Testing in More Detail
To comply with safety legislation all eyes bolts must be tested every 12 months.
We are qualified to install and test eye bolts and fall arrest anchor points so in the event of a system failure we can issue a full report, work required to bring the eye bolts up to safety standards and provide a quote for this work.
01
Visual Inspection
The first action required when carrying out a test is for us to physically inspect the eye bolts. At this point we are looking for any wear and tear or deterioration.
02
Apply Hydrajaws
We then attach our testing equipment, we use the Hydrajaw. Once the Hydrajaw is attached we then apply the load (6kN) for a minimum of 15 seconds.
03
Remove Hydrajaws
After at least 15 seconds we then release and remove the Hydrajaw.
03
Repeat Visual Examination
We then carry out another physical examination, again checking for any damage that may have occurred during the testing process.
05
Apply Safety Tag
Apply a safety tag to each eye bolt that has been tested. The safety tag will show the date it was inspected, who it was inspected by, the eye bolt ID and finally that date which the reinspection and test is required.
06
Issue Electronic Test Certificate
Finally, we issue an electronic test certificate. This is sent within 24 hours after the test however if required we can action this immediately..
